The Worlds of Destiny 2: Intro

Destiny 2’s world is a bit like our own; I mean aside from the obvious fact it has real planets and moons and that there’s earth and humans and all that. What I mean is that just like our real world Destiny 2 is a contrasting place; horrible things lie in wait and all around the world, performing acts that could spiral the world into a dark sad end, but instead of a horrific lovecraftian alien threat knocking at our door with untrustworthy claims of reckoning and saving and aliens seeking to wipe out those left we just got shitty billionaires, crummy old shit weasel corrupt politicians who should crumble to dust already, and the general bout of shit people.
However there’s also that contrast I mentioned; while there’s evil there’s also good.

Good people out there making their ends meet, trying to make the lives of themselves and others around them better, trying to make the world a better place and trying to change it for the best, and just like in Destiny 2 there’s still hope things can change and may very well change for the better. However I’m not just here to discuss the social or human based comparisons between a game about bodying nightmarish horrors and finding cool stuff (I mean you can do plenty of the latter irl) and the real world, I’m here more to talk about beauty.
Cause just like our real world Destiny 2 is full of beauty that strives even amongst the horrors of the world, beauty worth fighting for and protecting even in the face of evils whose goals would lead to this beauty being wiped out. I’m here to showcase that beauty of Destiny 2’s world, of the sights and sounds and of the places to find. And yes, that’s what my wordy comparison at the start was building the foundation for so just sit down and enjoy some dumbass dweeb talking about how Bungie are good at atmosphere like dumbass e-celebs are good at being massive walking breathing tumors; very very fucking good.

Our first stop? The ruins of the European Dead Zone and the lost tech of the Russian Cosmodrome.
